Management Team Bios

Nathan Hall, Founder and President
Mr. Hall first became interested in biodiesel while working in a Knott County underground coal mine. He built a high-quality small-scale biodiesel system as a project through Berea College that produced fuel for the campus farm tractors from the dining hall’s used cooking oil. He has also spent time working with Piedmont Biofuels, an innovative biodiesel producer and plant builder in Pittsboro, NC. Currently finishing a degree in Agricultural & Industrial Management at Berea, Mr. Hall is actively engaged with the startup of this company and is available for speaking engagements and workshops related to biodiesel and renewable energy. He is from the town of Allen in Floyd County.

Michael Lyon, Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Lyon became interested in his nephew’s idea to start a biodiesel business and convinced him to quit the coal mines and return to college. He hails from a background of senior management at the corporate data center for Lowe’s Home Improvement Centers at the company headquarters in North Carolina. In his role there he managed both the technical and operational aspects of one of the largest data centers in the south east. Mr. Lyon was intimately involved in the acquisition of multi-million dollar capital assets and the development and negotiation of contracts. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Marshall University and is originally from Barnett’s Creek in Johnson County.

Russel Lyon, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Lyon also became interested in his nephew’s biodiesel business after learning of the benefits to our region’s economic development as well the benefit to national security. He has served as Vice President for several companies over his working career through his involvement with General Corporation, a diversified logistics, warehousing, natural gas production and sales, and property management company in Charleston, WV. He managed human resources, floor operations, and was involved in all levels of the company’s accounting system. In addition to those roles at General Corporation he oversaw compliance with federal and state regulations. Mr. Lyon holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and an MBA from Marshall University and is also originally from Barnett’s Creek in Johnson County.
