- Our national security is increased by using a fuel that is made from local resources and used by local vehicles and equipment.
- Biodiesel is an excellent lubricant, and can be an effective lubricity additive when added to Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel even as a 2% blend. This lubricity can extend the life of fuel system components, including the engine and fuel pump.
- Our air quality is enhanced because of lower particulate and carbon monoxide emissions. EPA studies have shown that biodiesel use in school buses can even reduce the number of asthma attacks children have per year.
- Biodiesel is a “carbon-neutral” fuel, meaning that there is no net increase in carbon dioxide in our atmosphere from using it. In other words, the same amount of CO2 emitted at the vehicle tailpipe is converted into oxygen when plants grow to make oil for biodiesel.
